Susanna Herschberger

SUSANNA E. (YODER) (DIENER) HERSCHBERGER passed away in her home at 7:15 P.M. on Saturday, March 21, 2020 at the age of 98 years and 1 day.

Susanna was born on March 20, 1922 in rural Arthur, IL.   She was a daughter of Eli D. and Katie Ann (Mast) Yoder.   She married Andrew Diener on March 28, 1940 in rural Arthur, IL.   He passed away on October 17, 1946.   She later married David Herschberger in rural Arthur, IL on May 10, 1960.   He passed away on January 1, 1994.

She is survived by her son, Lewis Diener and his wife Treva of rural Arcola, IL; 2 stepsons, Henry Herschberger and his wife Mary of Arthur, IL and Eli Herschberger and his wife Vera of Sarasota, FL; 2 stepdaughters, Anna Mae Graber of Kalona, IA and Martha Ann Kaufman of Sarasota, FL; 8 grandchildren, Larry Diener and his wife Lorene of Arthur, IL, Rebecca Otto and her husband Marlin of Lewistown, MT, Darrell Diener and his wife Angie of Sullivan, IL, Glen Diener and his wife Amy of Humboldt, IL, Ruth Hostetler and her husband Levon of Arthur, IL, Willis Diener and his wife Jerilyn of Tuscola, IL, Carolyn Herschberger and her husband Kevin of Shipshewana, IN and Lamar Diener and his wife Chessea of Mattoon, IL 41 great-grandchildren; 17 great-great-grandchildren; 24 step grandchildren, 55 step great-grandchildren, 67 step great-great-grandchildren and 10 step great-great-great-grandchildren.

Also surviving are 3 sisters, Edna Otto of Leonard, MO, Sovilla Gingerich of Arthur, IL and Elsie Schrock of Arthur, IL.

Susanna was preceded in death by her parents, her 1st husband, Andy O Diener, 2nd husband, David B. Herschberger, 1 son, Willis Glen Diener, 1 step son, Levi Herschberger and his wife Sovilla, 1 step daughter, Bertha Kauffman and her husband Eli, 2 step sons-in-law, David Graber and Melvin Kaufman, 2 sisters, Mattie Yoder and her husband Monroe and Verna Miller and her husband Samuel, 4 brothers, Adlai Yoder and his wife Lena, Willis Yoder and his wife Kattie, Willard Yoder and his wife Verna and Daniel Yoder and 3 brothers-in-law, Eli Otto, Ben Gingerich and Martin Schrock.

Susanna was a member of the Old Order Amish Church.

Private services will be held, and burial will be in the Yoder Cemetery in rural Arthur, IL
