LLOYD A. DEAN, 79, of Windsor, IL formerly of Arthur, IL passed away at 9:45 A.M. on Tuesday, April 13, 2021 at his residence in rural Windsor, IL.

Memorial services will be held at 12:00 P.M. (Noon) on Saturday, April 17, 2021 at Penn Station in Arthur, IL.   Pastor Craig Swinford will officiate.   Burial will be at Lake Fork Cemetery in rural Atwood at a later date.    Visitation will be held prior to the memorial service, from 10:00 A.M to Noon on Saturday at Penn Station in Arthur, IL.  The Edwards Funeral Home is assisting with arrangements.

Lloyd was born in Arthur, IL on July 24, 1941.   He was a son of Charles O. and Juletta Esther (Martin) Dean.  He married Barbara D. Campbell on August 5, 1962 in Chrisman, IL, she passed away on August 30, 2006.  He later married Norma Jean (Hilmes) Helmuth on February 8, 2007 in Effingham, IL.

He is survived by his wife Norma Jean Dean; son, Bill Garman and his wife May of Mattoon, IL; daughters, Pamela Swinford and her husband Craig and Barbara Sue “Suzy” Edwards all of Arthur, IL; stepdaughter, Lisa Mette of Effingham, IL; stepson Leroy Helmuth and his wife Angela of Stewardson, IL; seven grandchildren, Rebeccah (Jayson) Vore of Dearborn Heights, MI, Darren (Emilie) Swinford of Lovington, IL, Ian Edwards of Mattoon, IL, Kate Edwards, Steven Edwards and Kenzie Edwards all of Arthur, IL; four step-grandchildren, Matt Mette and Jeremy Mette both of Effingham, IL Kyle (Britney) Helmuth of Stewardson, IL and Brandon Helmuth of Jacksonville, IL; four great-grandchildren, and one sister, Evelyn P. McLaughlin of Indianapolis, IN.

Preceding him in death were his parents, his first wife, Barbara Dean, daughter, Karla Rae Dean, son-in-law, Terry Edwards, grandson, Nathaniel Keegan Edwards, brothers, William T. Dean, Joseph E. Dean, Harold Lee Dean and Carl Dean, and sisters, Lila Johnson, June Brock, Esther Mulvaney, Zella Leona Dean

Lloyd was a well-known electrician and general repair man, specializing in generators.   Lloyd supplied equipment to 40 Amish Communities and had many friends in many places.

He was a Veteran of the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers

Lloyd had worked at Kraft Foods in Danville, IL, Zenith Radio Corp. in Paris, IL, Cabot Corp. in Tuscola from 1979 to 1999 and he operated a shop in Arthur, IL from 1994 to 2015.

He did not know how to retire.

The family requests no flowers, but memorials may be made to the Journey Church in Effingham, IL or the First Christian Church in Lovington, IL.
