Leta Marie Jerrell, 82, of Tuscola, IL formerly of Arthur, IL passed away at 3:25 P.M. Thursday, March 28, 2019, at home surrounded by her family.

Leta was born on December 1, 1936, in rural Arthur, IL.   She was a daughter of Frank and Laura (Bryson) Cundiff, she married D C Jerrell on May 19, 1956. He preceded her in death, along with her parents and brother, Ralph Cundiff.

She is survived by her son, Earl (Betty) Jerrell of Sullivan, IL; her daughter, Shirley (Eddie) Day of Tuscola; five grandchildren, Randy (Beth) Jerrell of Abilene, TX, Amy (Adam) Day Larck of Peoria, IL, Jason (Jessica) Jerrell of Summersville, MO, Lisa (Kevin) Schrock of Lovington, IL and Jay (Susannah) Day of Richland, WA; eight great-grandchildren; one brother, Cody (Karen) Cundiff of Thomasboro, IL and one sister, Suzanne Vitale of Bowling Green, Ky.

Leta worked for the State of Illinois in Springfield. Later, she worked at The Arthur Home for 24 years. Before fully retiring, she cleaned CHI in Arthur for six years.

She loved her church family at Arthur Southern Baptist and First Southern Baptist in Mattoon. She enjoyed sewing, gardening and going out to eat. She loved and enjoyed being with her family most of all.

Funeral service will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Monday, April 1, 2019 at Cornerstone Fellowship, 212 SE 3rd Street, Arthur, IL. Pastor Kevin Schrock and Pastor Kent Conover will officiate.   Burial will be in the Arthur Cemetery in Arthur, IL.   Visitation will be held one hour prior to the funeral at the church.   The Edwards Funeral Home is assisting with arrangements.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Cornerstone Fellowship or a memorial of your choice.
