Troy Stanton

Troy Dean Stanton, 51 of Arcola, IL passed away at 12:55 A.M. on Tuesday, December 8, 2020 at Sarah Bush Lincoln Hospital in Mattoon, IL.

Funeral services will be held at 7:00 P.M. on Thursday, December 10, 2020 at the Edwards Funeral Home.  Visitation will be held two hours prior at the funeral home.  Burial will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Friday, December 11, 2020 in the Danville National Cemetery.  The family requests that you follow the social distancing guidelines and wear a mask.

Troy was born on March 23, 1969 in Decatur, IL.  He was a son of Gaylord Dean and Phyllis Kay (Huckstep) Stanton.  He married Elizabeth H. Yard on July 3, 2001 in Arcola, IL.

He is survived by his wife, Elizabeth Stanton of Arcola, IL, three children, Christina Clark and her husband Charles, Samantha Williams and her husband Alex and Matthew Stanton and his wife McKenzie all of Dowagiac, MI, seven grandchildren, Jaxon, Grayson, Benson and Edison Clark, Vyolet and Allastor Williams and Logan Stanton, and his twin brother, Timmy Gene Stanton and his wife Marie of Arcola, IL.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Troy was a 1987 graduate of Arcola High School and an Army Veteran.

He drove a semi for Gainey Transportation for 15 years out of Grand Rapid, MI, and later for Cardinal Trucking out of Arthur, IL hauling Master Brand Cabinets all over the United States.

Troy enjoyed fishing, hunting, taking photos and watching movies and listening to music.
