Tony Roy Scribner

Tony Roy Scribner, 65, of Tuscola, passed away on Sunday, August 17. He was born September 28, 1959 in Urbana, to Janet Endsley and Jerry Scribner.

Tony graduated from Centennial High School in 1977. He began his career working in his father’s grocery stores and was assigned to the Tuscola IGA, where he met the love of his life, Linda. Tony and Linda (Pankau) were married November 26, 1982. They raised their six children in rural Tuscola. In 1991, Tony purchased his own grocery store, Georgetown IGA. In 2016, he partnered with Doug Wolpert and moved the store and converted it to Georgetown Save a Lot. In his limited spare time, Tony could be found on the mower for hours or in his garden. In recent years, he found he had a love for tending cattle. Tony loved family get togethers at their family home and they were always peppered with laughter and his quick wit. There was rarely a dull moment.

Tony is survived by his wife, Linda and their dog PJ, and four of their children: Adam Scribner (fiancé Courtney White), Elizabeth Ingram (Brad), Josh Scribner (Emily), and Hannah Feagin (Jordan). Also by his in-laws Harold and Martha Pankau. Tony’s favorite people were his grandchildren: Lana White, Elena White and Landon Scribner, Ben, Emma, and Eli Ingram, Makenna Scribner, Sarver and Endsley Scribner, and Lane, Cameron, and Charlie Feagin. His longest standing survivors are his siblings, Kathy Winn, Ken Scribner, Marsha Schultz, and Chuck Scribner.

Tony was preceded in death by his parents and two sons, Jacob and Jordan Scribner, and a beloved dog, Abby.

Services will be held at Edwards Funeral Home, 221 East Main St., in Arcola, with visitation Friday, August 22, from 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm and funeral Saturday, August 23 at 10:00 am. Burial will follow at the Tuscola Cemetery, next to his two sons.
