Stanley Joe “Stan” Headrick, 66, of Arcola, IL passed away at 8:01 AM on Tuesday, April 28, 2026 at Sarah Bush Lincoln Health Center in Mattoon, IL.
Funeral services will be held at 3:00 PM on Friday, May 1, 2026 at the Edwards Funeral Home, 221 East Main St., Arcola, IL. Pastor Randy Wright will officiate. Burial will follow in the Arcola Cemetery. Visitation will be held two hours prior to the funeral from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the funeral home.
Stan was born on December 19, 1959 in Tuscola, IL. He was a son of Joseph Nelson and Reta Lynn (VanDeveer) Headrick.
He is survived by his parents, Joe and Reta Headrick of Arcola, IL, four brothers, Eric Headrick and his wife Kelly of Arcola, IL, Boyd Headrick and his wife Angel of Bloomington, IL, Mark Headrick and his wife Tonya of Tuscola, IL and Brian Headrick and his wife Cheryl of Mattoon, IL, and 15 nieces and nephews and 25 great nieces and great nephews.
He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Ivan and Verta Fullerton, and maternal grandparents, Carl and Freda VanDeveer.
Stan was a lifelong resident of Arcola. He graduated from Arcola High School in 1978.
Stan spent several years working for his brothers, Eric and Boyd, where he was responsible for keeping their shops tidy and clean.
Known for his kind nature, Stan loved people and was loved by everyone who knew him. He was always welcoming and enjoyed talking to anyone who stopped by. He always found a way to tease those around him, bringing smiles and laughter to many.
Stan will be remembered for his gentle spirit, his easy smile, and the way he made people feel at home. Whether you stopped by for a quick visit or stayed a while on the porch, Stan made those moments matter.
Stan leaves behind a legacy of kindness, humor, and quiet moments that meant more than he probably ever realized. The laughter he shared and the comfort he gave will stay with us always. He will be deeply missed and fondly remembered by all who knew him.
Memorials may be made to the Arcola Food Pantry.
