Sharon Kay Mosser, 75, of Arthur, IL passed away at 7:40 A.M. on Wednesday, February 16, 2022 at Sarah Bush Lincoln Health Center in Mattoon, IL.  

Funeral services will be held at 3:00 P.M. on Sunday, February 20, 2022 at the First Baptist Church in Arthur, IL.  Rev. John Stewart and Pastor Scott Payne will officiate.  Visitation will be held two hours prior to the service from 1:00 P.M. to 3:00 P.M. on Sunday, at the church.  The Edwards Funeral Home is assisting with arrangements.

Sharon was born on August 18, 1946 in Bloomington, IL.  She was a daughter of Conrad Otis and Maggie Frances (McCleary) Gillespie.  She married John William Mosser on July 26, 1968 in Urbana, IL.  

She is survived by her husband John of Arthur, IL, four children, Tony Madden and his wife Sheila of Decatur, IL, Dustin “Dusty” Mosser of Arthur, IL, Lisa Jent and her husband David of Arthur, IL and Leslie Hershberger and her husband Chet of Arcola, IL, six grandchildren, Brandon Maddox, Breanna Maddox, Jenna Phillips, Jordan Jent, Alyssa, and Brent Hershberger, and one sister, Joyce Gillespie of Olney, IL.

She was preceded in death by her parents, and six siblings, Bob Gillespie, Bill Gillespie, Gene Gillespie, Neva Hardy, Tom Gillespie and Jack Gillespie. 

Sharon had worked at Mansfield Grain for over 20 years and helped manage a speedway in Champaign, IL for many years.  

She was a huge sports fan, Illinois Fighting Illini and Golden State Warriors being two of her favorite teams.  Sharon enjoyed crocheting, fishing, bowling, and spending time with her family.
