Rosie graduated from Arcola High School in 1949 and went on to attend Parkland College. She was a devoted farmer’s wife and the heart of her family, - a tireless provider whose strength and spirit helped build and sustain the family farm. Rosie wasn’t just behind the scenes; she was in the fields, at the table, in the books, and in the kitchen - doing whatever needed to be done with quiet determination and love.
Known for her unwavering dedication and generous heart, Rosie found joy in the simple but meaningful rhythms of farm life. She poured her energy into tending her garden, canning the harvest, quilting, and baking everything from scratch — especially pies.
Rosie was deeply connected to her faith and her community. She was a longtime member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Arcola and was actively involved in the Altar Rosary Society. She loved being part of the Galton Ladies Club and the Hindsboro Bunco Club. She was also a member of the Christian Motorcycle Club and enjoyed golfing and traveling to Florida with Baird for the winters. She was deeply blessed by the expansion of her family through her marriage to Baird, and one of her greatest joys was being reunited with her sisters when they moved back to Arcola - a gift that brought her comfort, joy, and love.
Rosie lived a life full of purpose, service, and love. Her strength, warmth, and unwavering devotion to her family will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
