Robert York

Robert York, 81 of Arcola, IL passed away at 4:00 PM on Saturday, May 3, 2025 at his son’s residence in Arcola.

Private family services will be held at a later date. The Edwards Funeral Home is assisting the family.

Robert was born on June 11, 1943 in Tuscola, IL. He was the son of George William and Mary Elizabeth (Smith) York. He married Jo Helen Wilson on March 21, 1961 in Charleston, IL; she passed away on September 20, 2011.

He is survived by seven children, Darlene Hutchinson of Palmyra, IL, Robert York of Rantoul, IL, Rick York and his wife Melody of Arcola, IL, Kerry York and his wife Chrissy of Tolono, IL, Audra Pullen and her husband Rick of Arthur, IL, Martha Ealy and her husband John of Charleston, IL and Mary Hunter and her husband Tim of Hindsboro, IL, 31 grandchildren, 50 great grandchildren, 29 great great grandchildren, and one sister, JoAnn Burch.

He was preceded in death by his parents, George William York, and Mary Elizabeth and her husband Kennie Tuttle, his wife, Jo Helen York, one grandson, Blake York, three sons-in-law, Les Lindstrom, Bruce Hutchinson and Tom Koons, and five siblings, Patty Wiekert, Rosemary Brandon, Max Tuttle, Gene Tuttle and Bob Tuttle.

Robert worked at USI in Tuscola for 24 years, and he retired from Safety Storage in Charleston, IL.

Robert enjoyed reading and taking walks. He enjoyed going to rummage sales and visiting with his neighbors, but most of all spending time with his family.
