Robert Hitt

ROBERT “BOB” HITT, 83 of Tuscola IL passed away at 9:20 P.M. on Tuesday February 9, 2010 at Arcola Health Center in Arcola, IL.

Arrangments for a graveside funeral will be held in Union Cemetery at a later date in Hindsboro, IL. The Edwards Funeral Home in Arcola, Illinois is assisting with the funeral arrangements.

Bob was born on January 8, 1927 in Humboldt, IL. He was a son of James A. and Cora Alice (Garrett) Hitt. He married Mary Lewis on September 14, 1945.

He is survived by his wife, Mary of Tuscola, IL; one brother, Everett Hitt of Greenup, IL; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by parents; one daughter, Joyce Mae Hitt; one brother, Leonard Hitt and one sister, Doris Fansler.

Bob was an Army Veteran of the Korean War.

He was a farmhand and implement mechanic, having worked for Co-op elevators at Tuscola and Hayes, IL. He also worked at Huber and Sloan John Deere of Tuscola and Romine Equipment of Atwood, Illinois.
