Randall Smith

RANDALL EUGENE SMITH, 63, of Cooks Mills, IL passed away at 1:51 p.m. Monday, November 5, 2007 at Sarah Bush Lincoln Health Center in Mattoon, IL.

Randall was born January 8, 1944 in Cooks Mills, IL. He was a son of Vernon Eugene and Florence (Bartimus) Smith. He married Karla Cloyd on February 15, 1964 in Cooks Mills, IL.

Survivors include his wife, Karla Smith of Cooks Mills, IL; two sons, Todd Smith and his wife, Heather, of Lerna, IL and Ryan Smith of Cooks Mills, IL; two daughters, Stacey Bunyard and her husband, Keith, of Cooks Mills, IL and Tami Jennings of Mattoon, IL; six grandchildren, Lane, Logan, Andrew, Anthony, Karsha, and Zachary; his mother, Florence Smith of Cooks Mills, IL; special friends from Camp No-Wok and special nephew and traveling buddy, Terry Williams.

His father, two sisters, Peggy Smith and Marjorie Towle and one brother, Anthony Lee Smith preceded him in death.

Randall was a member of United Auto Workers Local 751 of Decatur, IL. He retired from Caterpillar of Decatur in 1997 with over thirty-three years of service as a welder.

Randall loved traveling, hunting and fishing. Each year, Randall would go on annual turkey hunting trips to southern Illinois. He also enjoyed going on canoe trips to the Current River in Missouri for over thirty years.
