Rachel Gingerich

RACHEL DAWN GINGERICH, 35, of rural Arthur, IL passed away at 7:50 P.M. on Monday, September 30, 2019 at her residence.

Funeral services will be held at 9:00 A.M. on Thursday, October 3, 2019 at the HCK West Building, one mile south of Arthur, IL.  Bishop Daniel Chupp will officiate.  Burial will follow in the Otto Cemetery in rural Arthur.  Visitation will be held any time after 2:00 P.M. on Tuesday, October 1, 2019 and at the HCK West Building.  The Edwards Funeral Home is assisting the family.

Rachel was born on April 5, 1984 in Decatur, IL.   She is a daughter of Clyde E. and Treva Lorene (Herschberger) Schlabach.   She married Owen Gingerich on June 25, 2003 in Arthur, IL.

She is survived by her husband Owen; five children, Angela Dawn and her special friend Eric Lynn Brenneman, Amy Nichole, Bradley Ryan, Alisha Rose and Brent Eugene; her parents Clyde and Treva Schlabach; one sister, Cynthia Schrock and her husband Wesley of Arthur, IL; two brothers, Kevin Schlabach and his wife Luella of Arthur, IL and Matthew Schlabach and his wife Elaine of Arcola, IL; paternal grandparents, Willard and Esther Schlabach of Ava, IL and maternal grandmother, Elmina Herschberger of Arthur, IL; six nephews and four nieces.

She was preceded in death by her maternal grandfather, Jacob J. Herschberger.

Rachel was a member of the Old Order Amish Faith.
