Phyllis Thompson

PHYLLIS LEE THOMPSON, 56, of Mattoon, IL, passed away at 6:01 P.M. on Sunday, June 7, 2015 at her residence.

A private memorial service will be held at a later date.

Phyllis was born on April 19, 1959 in Mattoon, IL. She was a daughter to James L. and Minerva (Guill) Brown. She married Mike Thompson on December 27, 1999 in Charleston, IL.

She is survived by her husband, three brothers, James L. Brown and his wife Delores of Lisbon, OH, Steven E. Brown of Mattoon, IL, and Fred Brown and his wife Barbara of Argyle, TX; one sister, Rebecca Hudson and her husband Rick of Tuscola, IL, two step-children, Jody Ryan and her husband Erik of Mattoon, IL, and Chris Thompson and his wife Melanie of Winchester, CA, and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Phyllis was a 1977 graduate of Mattoon High School. She had worked at Herff Jones in Arcola, IL for eight years, Carson’s in the Cross County Mall in Mattoon, IL.

She enjoyed NASCAR and going to Lynyrd Skynyrd Concerts.
