Biography

NORA NADINE CAMPBELL, 93, of Decatur, IL was taken to heaven at 3:24 A.M. on Wednesday, October 5, 2016 at St. Mary’s Hospital in Decatur, IL.

A celebration of Nadine’s life will be held at 3:00 P.M. on Sunday, October 9, 2016 at gtChurch in Decatur, IL. The visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the church. Rev. Matt Samuels will officiate. Interment will be held in the Macon County Memorial Park Cemetery in Harristown, IL. The Edwards Funeral Home is assisting with arrangements.

Nadine was born on March 19, 1923 in Macedonia, IL. She was a daughter of Lon and Naomi (Gibbs) Miller. She was raised, however, by Rose and Amos Hutchcraft after her mother died of tuberculosis when Nadine was three months old. During WWII she riveted aircraft fuselages in Evansville, IN. She married Paul (PK) Campbell, whom she referred to as the “perfect man”, on November 10, 1948 in Marion, IL; they lived together in Holy Matrimony for over 54 years.

She loved her Lord, her family, flowers, tomatoes, and was fascinated by hummingbirds and bird watching in general.

Nadine was a charter member of Glad Tidings Assembly of God which recently celebrated its 60th anniversary and is now known as gtChurch. Her legacy and the sacrifices of those initial members years ago is that the Gospel has reached thousands of lost souls for Jesus Christ.

Nadine is survived by two daughters: Patty Tague (Ken) of Mt. Zion, IL and Vickie Giger (Sam) of Pottsboro, TX; four grandchildren, Ashley Tague (fiancé Sean Miller), Sammy Giger, Stevie Giger and Sasha Giger; and one brother: Lon Miller.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband: Paul Campbell; two sisters: Carmen Fisher and Jo Dawson; and three brothers: James Hutchcraft, Wayne Hutchcraft and Marne Miller.

Memorials may be made to gtChurch.
