Biography

NANCY LEE (ADDIS) “NAN” DIXON, 75, of Humboldt, IL passed away at 6:53 P.M. on Saturday, August 23, 2014 at Carle Foundation Hospital in Urbana, IL.

Private services will be held on Friday, August 29, 2014 at the Plainfield Church near Rose Hill, IL. Rev. Shane Beever will officiate. Burial will be in the Plainfield Cemetery near Rose Hill, IL. Private visitation will be held from 5:00 P.M. to 6:00 P.M. at the Walnut Grove Christian Church in rural Arcola, IL. The Edwards Funeral Home is assisting with arrangements.

Nancy was born on June 1, 1939 in Decatur, IL. She is a daughter of Otis Ray and Alice Louise (Stronge) Tuttle. She married Max E. Addis on June 1, 1956 in Newton, IL he passed away in October of 1988. She later married Alvin Lee Dixon Sr. on December 29, 1993 in Camargo, IL.

She is survived by her husband, Alvin of Humboldt, IL, four children, Nancee Addis of Clovis, NM, Samual Max Addis of Mattoon, IL, Connie Louise Addis of Paris, IL and Patricia Renee Addis of Mattoon, IL; one brother Jim A. Tuttle and his wife Nancy of Newton, IL; eight grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren; six step, Lydia Beeson of Greenup, IL, Ted Dixon of Mt. Vernon, IN, Clara Leach of Mattoon, IL, Alvin Dixon Jr. of Humboldt, IL Vicki Spriggs of Stockton, CA and Paula Chism of Mattoon, IL.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her first husband, Max Addis, one sister, Terry Ann Ropp, one brother, Otis R. Tuttle Jr. and one grandson, Richard E. Addis.

Nancy worked as a cashier for the Dixie Truck Stop in Tuscola, IL from 1989 to 1992 later she worked at Monty’s in Atwood as a prep –cook. She enjoyed doing crafts, reading and spending time with her family.

Nancy was a member of the Walnut Grove Christian Church in rural Arcola, IL.
