MERVIN WM. HERSCHBERGER, 59, of Arthur, IL passed away at 1:25 P.M. on Tuesday, October 31, 2017 at Decatur Memorial Hospital.

Funeral services will be held at 9:00 A.M. on Friday, November 3, 2017 at the HCK West Building, 300 North CR 000 East in Arthur.   Bishop Omer Otto will officiate.  Burial will be in the Otto Cemetery in rural Arthur.  Visitations will be held any time after 2:00 P.M. on Wednesday, November 1, 2017 and any time after 1:00 P.M. on Thursday, November 2, 2017 all at the HCK West Building.  The Edwards Funeral Home is assisting with arrangements.

Mervin was born on July 28, 1958 in Tuscola.  He was a son of Levi C. and Edna E. (Schrock) Herschberger.   He married Verna A. Miller on November 1, 1979 in Arthur.

Survivors include his wife Verna; 5 children, Marlin Wayne Herschberger and his wife Verna Kay (Gingerich), Cheryl Renee Plank and her husband Ervin, Marcus William Herschberger and his wife Anna Mae (Gingerich) all of Arthur, Terry Lynn Herschberger and his wife Marnita Elaine (Miller) of Arcola, and Mervin James Herschberger and his wife Sharon (Otto) of Humboldt; 20 grandchildren, his dad, Levi C. Herschberger of Arthur; four siblings, Raymond Herschberger and his wife Dorothy (Otto), Eli Herschberger and his wife Betty Louise (Kauffman) all of Arthur, Mary Lucille Schrock and her husband Howard of Sullivan, and Amanda Miller and her husband Allen of Humboldt.

He was preceded in death by his mom; Edna E. Herschberger and one son, Eli Ray Herschberger.

Mervin and his wife owned and operated Little Creek Woodworking for the past 21 years.

Mervin was a member of the Old Order Amish Church.
