Mary Frances Van Voorhis, 95, of Champaign, IL formerly of Mattoon, IL passed away at 9:49 A.M. on Thursday, November 1, 2018 at Champaign County Nursing Home in Urbana, IL.

Funeral services will be held at 11:30 A.M. on Saturday, November 10, 2018 at the Hindsboro Christian Church, 102 Illinois Street, Hindsboro, IL.  Rev. A.B. Bennett will officiate.  Burial will follow in the Van Voorhis Cemetery.  Visitation will be held one hour prior to the funeral from 10:30 A.M. to 11:30 A.M. at the church.  The Edwards Funeral Home is assisting with arrangements.

Mary Frances was born on December 17, 1922 in Paris, IL.  She was a daughter of Ray E. and Jessie H. (VanDeventer) Douglas.  She married Robert Van Voorhis on June 14, 1941 in Hindsboro, IL.  He passed away on September 9, 1986.

She is survived by three children: Donna J. Tomlinson and her husband Joe of Champaign, IL, Kevin L. Van Voorhis and his wife Angie of LeRoy, IL, and Daniel T. Van Voorhis of McLure, IL; seven grandchildren; thirteen great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; one sister: Lorene Shea of Ft. Collins, CO; and two brothers: Ned Douglas and his wife Phyllis of Hindsboro, IL and Glenn Douglas of PA.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband: Robert; and nine siblings: June, Jean, Dorothy, Don, Larry, Ben, Max, Dale and Rex.

Mary Frances was a member of the First Christian Church in Hindsboro, IL where she was baptized when she was younger.  She later attended the Meadowbrook Community Church in Champaign, IL.

Memorials may be made to the Hindsboro Christian Church.
