Mary Ellen Redden

Mary Ellen Redden, 92, of Mattoon, IL formerly of Sandwich, IL passed away at 3:30 PM on Monday, February 23, 2026 at Odd Fellow Rebekah Home in Mattoon, IL.

No public services will be held, per Mary’s request. Private burial will be in the Broadus Cemetery in Camargo, IL. The Edwards Funeral Home is assisting with arrangements.

Mary was born on July 13, 1933 to Louie A. and Laura M. (Linder) Dallas in Sims, IL. She married Myron E. Redden on March 3, 1951 in Garrett, IL; he passed away on May 23, 2019.

She is survived by her daughters, Elaine Redden, Leila Kepler, and Ellen Redden-Smith, her only son, Les Redden (Pat), grandsons, Troy Davis, Jon (Diane) Byro, Seth Albertsons, and Jarrett Smith, granddaughters, Tonya Davis, Kristy Redden and Jennifer Redden, great grandsons, Troy N. Davis and Vincent Peplinski, great granddaughters, My’Landra Davis and Ava Peplinski, great great grandchildren, Jaxton Labellarte, Kennedy McClain, and Kai McClain and one sister, Sarah Porter and her husband Frank, two brothers-in-law, Richard Redden and George Fidler and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, her granddaughter, Zoie Chain Davis, son-in-law, Rex Kepler, six brothers, Ivan Dallas, Lowell Dallas, Caroll Dallas, Richard Dallas, Eugene Dallas and Clifford Dallas, and four sisters, Marie Howard, Imogene Bowles, Alta Enyart and Marlys Fidler.

Mary was a loving and devoted mother and grandmother, whose family was the center of her life. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to Taylor and Casey of Transitions Hospice for helping their mother on her journey to heaven.
