Graveside services will be held at 3:00 PM on Wednesday, March 20, 2024 at the Grace Lutheran Cemetery in Strasburg, IL. Pastor Greg McLain will officiate. The Edwards Funeral Home is assisting with arrangements.
Marilyn was born on August 30, 1943 in Toledo, IL. She was the daughter of Harry Glenn and Mildred Viola (Gentry) Hall. She married Maurice H. Doehring on January 11, 1963 in Chicago, IL. He passed away on June 29, 2008.
She is survived by three children, Robert Doehring and his wife Sherry of Conway, MO, Ronald Doehring and his wife Rita of Dalton City, IL and Tera Peadro and her husband David of Windsor, IL, eight grandchildren, twenty-two great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, one brother, Robert Hall and one sister, Linda Brewer.
Marilyn graduated from Cumberland High School in 1961. She attended Lake Land College for cosmetology and later opened her own beauty shop in Mattoon, IL. After several years of operating her beauty shop, Marilyn got her CDL license and teamed up with her husband, driving a semi on long haul transports. When Mauriece’s health declined and he could no longer drive, Marilyn became a CNA and went to work at the Masonic Home in Sullivan; she worked there for several years. She and Maurice also taxied Amish for many years and made several live long friends.
Marilyn enjoyed crocheting and spending time with friends and family, especially her grandchildren.
