Madonna Morris

Madonna Naidene Morris, 94, of Mattoon, IL passed away at 10:52 P.M. on Monday, June 3, 2019 at Heartland Christian Village in Neoga, IL.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 A.M. on Friday, June 7, 2019 at the Immanuel Lutheran Church, 902 Cleveland Avenue, in Charleston, IL.  Pastor Kenneth Hoover will officiate.  Burial will follow in Rest Haven Memorial Gardens in Mattoon, IL.  Visitation will be from 4:30 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. on Thursday, June 6, 2019 at the church.  The Edwards Funeral Home is assisting with arrangements.

Madonna was born on July 1, 1924 in Mattoon, IL.  She is a daughter of Ruel Raymond and Eva Dorothea (Whitley) Buser.  She married Raymond William Morris on December 14, 1941 in Mattoon, IL.

Survivors include her husband, Raymond, of 77 years, one son: Gary Morris and his wife Jeri of Mattoon, IL and one daughter: Lori Counts of Mattoon, IL, three grandchildren, Clint Morris of Franklin, IN, Stephanie Sapp and her husband Joe of Mattoon, IL and Katie (Counts) Good of Charleston, IL six great-grandchildren and one sister: Joyce Buser of Mattoon, IL.

She is preceded in death by her parents, one brother: Owen Buser and a sister-in-law, Mariam Buser

Madonna was a member of the Immanuel Lutheran Church in Charleston, IL, where she was also a charter member of the Lutheran Women’s Missionary League.

She had been a care provider at Sarah Bush Lincoln Hospital in Mattoon, IL for several years.

Memorials may be made to the Johnson County, IN Autism Support Group or the Immanuel Lutheran Church in Charleston.
