Biography

Lydia Schrock, 91 of Arthur, IL passed away at 8:11 p.m. on Friday, September 19, 2014 at Heartland of Decatur.

Visitation will be held from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. and from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, September 23, 2014 at the Edwards Funeral Home, 221 East Main in Arcola, IL. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, September 24, 2014 at the Southern Baptist Church, 530 North Vine Street in Arthur, IL. Rev. Phil Schrock will officiate. Burial will be in the Arthur Cemetery.

Lydia was born on February 6, 1923 in Arthur, IL. She was a daughter of John D. and Fannie Plank. She married Chris M. Schrock on October 15, 1942 in Arthur, IL. He passed away on June 19, 2003.

Survivors include two sons, Joe Schrock and his wife Debbie of Maryville, TN, and Phil Schrock and his wife Patty of Arthur, IL; one daughter, Mary Zehr and her husband Dave of Brewerton, NY; ten grandchildren, Eric (Kathy), Chad (Niki), Hans, Britt (Karla) Schrock and Jason (Katie) Murphy, Lisa (Harry) Durant, Jason (Amy) Zehr, Matthew (Jennifer), Kevin (Lisa), and Nick (Jessica) Schrock; thirteen great-grandchildren; four brothers, Ezra, Henry (Martha), Eli (Cora) of Arthur, IL. Ed of Fresno, CA; brother-in-law, Wayne Yutzy of Wooster, OH; three sisters, Martha (Walter) Gingerich, Catherine Plank, Ada (Ruben) Yutzy all of Arthur, IL.

Lydia was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Chris, one son Wayne, and one sister, Fannie Marie Yutzy of Ohio, two sisters-in-law, Alma Plank, of Illinois and Elda Plank, of California.

Lydia was a member of Cornerstone Fellowship in Arthur, IL.

Lydia was a very creative person who loved gardening, sewing, quilting, cooking, and music. She loved her family and her husband of over 60 years. But her first love was always to God. She will be missed by her family, friends, and the community.
