Lisa Tomas

LISA TOMAS, 62, of Humboldt, IL went to be with her Lord at 2:20 P.M. on Friday, January 6, 2023, at Carle Foundation Hospital in Urbana, IL

Visitation will be held from 5:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. on Monday, January 9, 2023 at the Edwards Funeral Home in Arcola, IL. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 A.M. on Tuesday, January 10, 2023, at the Maranatha Baptist Church, 3400 Dewitt Avenue in Mattoon, IL. Pastor Dan Haifley will officiate. Burial will be in the Gwinn Cemetery in rural Oakland, IL.

Lisa was born on September 10, 1960, in Tuscola, IL.  She is a daughter of Ronald Jackson and Donna Jean (Perkins) Taylor.   She married Dale A. Tomas on April 7, 1979, in Charleston, IL.   He passed away on January 19, 2022.

Lisa is survived by two children, Caleb Tomas of Quincy, IL and Amy Barthelemy and her husband Zach of South Pekin, IL; daughter, Pamela Tomas of Humboldt, IL; four grandchildren, Taylee and Teagan Barthelemy and Jaxon and Matthew Tomas; her mother, Donna Taylor of Mattoon, IL; three sisters, Cathy Taylor of Champaign, IL, Brenda Scribner and her husband Dave of Sullivan, IL and Ronda Mesa and her husband Pablo of Plainfield, IL and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in by her father, Ronald Taylor, her husband Dale A. Tomas and

One son Joshua A. Tomas.  

Lisa was a 1978 graduate of Oakland High School.

She was a member of the Maranatha Baptist Church in Mattoon, IL.

Lisa retired from Illinois consolidated with over 20 years of service.

She liked all kinds of jewelry, she enjoyed going to garage sales, she played the piano, she was an excellent cook and always looked forward to hosting family and friends for holiday feasts.   Her greatest joy in life came from simply spending time with her grandchildren.
