In Loving Memory of Linda Redd, November 4, 1961 – September 26, 2023

Our hearts are heavy as we bid farewell to a cherished daughter, mother, sister, grandmother, and friend, Linda, who peacefully passed away at 2:13 A.M. on Tuesday, September 26, 2023, at the age of 61 after a courageous battle with cancer.  She leaves behind a legacy of love, compassion, and a deep appreciation for life’s simple pleasures.

A Memorial Service honoring Linda’s life will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Saturday, October 7, 2023, at the Edwards Funeral Home, 221 East Main Street in Arcola, IL. Private burial be held in the Arthur Cemetery, and a Celebration of Linda’s life will be held in Hawaii at a later date.

Linda was born in Decatur, IL on November 4, 1961. She is the daughter of Charles Owen and Joyce Maudonna (Connor) Lowder.

She dedicated her life to selflessly caring for the tiniest and most valuable patients in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit for over three decades. Her unwavering commitment to the well-being of premature infants touched countless lives and earned her the respect and admiration of colleagues and families alike.

Beyond her professional life, Linda was a loving mother to her two children, Dallas, and Lauren, who were her greatest source of joy and pride. Her nurturing spirit extended beyond the hospital walls and into her home, where she provided endless love and support.

In her spare time, Linda found solace and happiness in the presence of animals and the tranquility of the beach. Her love for animals led her to rescue and care for numerous four-legged friends over the years, always making her home a haven for furry companions in need. Her heart was also captivated by the beauty of Hawaii, finding peace and serenity in the rhythm of the waves and the feel of sand beneath her feet.

Linda will be remembered for her boundless compassion, her unwavering dedication to her profession, and her zest for life. Her legacy lives on through the lives she touched and the love she shared.

Though she may no longer be with us in person, the memories of Linda’s kindness and love will forever remain etched in our hearts.

Linda’s memory will forever be cherished by her mother, Joyce Lowder, her brother Tim Lowder and his wife Mona, her son, Dallas Redd and his wife Amanda, her daughter, Lauren Redd, her grandchildren, Atlas Winters, Sydney Redd, Shepard Redd and a multitude of friends and colleagues who were touched by her gentle caring spirit.

She was preceded in death by her father, Charles Lowder, and a brother, Larry Eugene Lowder.

As we say goodbye to Linda, we are comforted in knowing that she now rests in eternal peace,
surrounded by the gentle sounds of the beach she so adored, and may her memory continue to inspire us all to show kindness and love to one another, just as she did throughout her remarkable life.
