Lee Roy “Pete” Nadolny, 86, of Arcola, IL passed away at 6:25 PM on Sunday, August 14, 2022 at his residence.
Visitation will be from 4:00 P.M. to 6:00 P.M. on Wednesday, August 17, 2022 at the Edwards Funeral Home. Funeral services will begin at 6:00 P.M on Wednesday following the Visitation.
Burial with Military Rites conducted by the Mattoon VFW will be in the Dodge Grove Cemetery in Mattoon, IL at 11:00 A.M on Thursday, August 18, 2022.
Lee was born on June 12, 1937 in Sturgis Michigan. His biological father was Leo C. Hovarter, he was adopted by Peter Nadolny, his mother was Irene (Parker) Nadolny. He married Nancy Faye Henry and later married Johnna Lee Johnson on December 21, 1979 in Charleston, IL. She passed away on November 8, 2020.
He is survived by three children, Ted A. Nadolny and his wife Nancy of Mattoon, IL, Pete E. Nadolny and Joni Carter of Mattoon, IL and Mamie Norlene “Sis” Tucker of Arcola, IL, several grandchildren; many great-grandchildren; two sisters, Cynthia Steward and her husband Leonard of Garrett, IN and Susan Higgens of Auburn, IN.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, one daughter, Debbie K. Nadolny, a step-son, Anthony Tucker, a grandson, Jeremiah Joseph Lee Jones and one sister, Kay Johnson.
Lee was a Navy Veteran in the Korean war.
He was a union painter for over 30 years. After retirement he went on to raise his granddaughter, LesLee Watkins.
He enjoyed fishing, bowling, he was a St. Louis Cardinals Baseball fan. He loved his dogs.
Lee was a Promise Keeper. He was an active member of the General Baptist Church in Arcola, IL where he served as a deacon and always looked forward to church camp.
Memorials may be made to the Edwards Funeral Home to help pay for funeral expenses.
