Larry Franklin Belton, 75, of Arthur, IL passed away at 3:18 AM on Sunday, December 21, 2025 at his residence.
Visitation will be held from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM on Friday, December 26, 2025 at the Vineyard Church, 1805 South Hamilton St., Sullivan, IL. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM on Saturday, December 27, 2025 at the church. Pastor Jim Plank will officiate. Burial with Military Rites conducted by the Arthur American Legion, Post 479 will follow in the Arthur Cemetery. The Edwards Funeral Home is assisting with arrangements.
Larry was born on October 1, 1950 in Toledo, IA. He was a son of Guy and Dorothy (Buresh) Belton. He married Regina Sue “Jeannie” Thompson on December 30, 1972 in Tama, IA.
He is survived by his wife, Jeannie Belton of Arthur, IL, one daughter, Jennifer Anderson and her husband Chad of Sheridan, IL, one son-in-law, Dave Rocke of Lovington, IL, two grandchildren, Zachary E. White and Lane A. Anderson, two great-grandchildren, Nova S. White and Skyler G. White, two sisters, JoAn Ringler of Grinnell, IA, Sharon K. (Larry) Beck of Chelsea, IA, one brother, Guy M. (Peggy) of Hudson, IA, and one half-sister, Carleen (Jerry) Chapman of Marion, IA.
He was preceded in death by his parents, one daughter, Tamra Belton-Rocke, one brother, Edwin Dean Belton, three half-brothers, Robert J. Belton, Richard Kaufman and Harry Kaufman, and one half-sister, Audrey Wheeler.
Larry was a proud Army Veteran, having served in the Vietnam War from 1969 to 1971.
He dedicated over 25 years of his life to farming. Larry also had a notable career at Bear Creek Truss in Arthur, IL, where he worked for 21 years as a driver, transporting trusses and building materials until his recent retirement in 2025.
Larry was a member of the Vineyard Church in Sullivan, IL where he found community and fellowship. He was known for his generous spirit, always taking joy in helping family and friends. He cherished the moments spent attending horse shows with his daughters, creating lasting memories. Larry enjoyed camping with his wife, Jeannie and his dog, Dozer. Farming and DIY projects were activities that kept him engaged and fulfilled.
