Kraig Wesley Renfro

March 9, 1973 — June 17, 2024

Kraig Wesley Renfro

Our beloved Kraig Wesley Renfro passed from this life to his eternal reward on Monday, June 17, 2024. He was a faithful servant of Christ, a loving husband, a kind father, and a caring, genuine friend.

Kraig was born in Decatur, Illinois, on March 9, 1973, to Kenneth Wayne Sr., and Willie Mae (Armstrong) Renfro. Growing up with his large family in Macon, Illinois, Kraig felt the call of God on his life to go into ministry. It was on a mission trip to Armenia where he met the love of his life, Manushak. On July 31, 2005, he married Manushak Yeritsyan, and they shared a beautiful bond throughout their marriage. Together, they have three beautiful sons: KJ, Kristian, and Korban. Kraig loved spending time with his family. Together, they enjoyed worshipping, listening to music, hiking, going to the zoo, traveling, watching movies, playing board games, and of course Pluto.

Kraig graduated from Christ For The Nations Institute in Dallas, Texas and returned to Decatur, Illinois to serve as the programming pastor at GT Church. In 2013, God opened the door for Kraig to return to his love for Texas and serve on the pastoral staff at Gateway Church in the greater DFW area. Throughout his ministry, Kraig has touched many lives both young and old. His passion for excellence could be seen in every aspect of his ministry. From leading worship, caring for people, organizing events, stage and production design, to youth and young adult leadership, Kraig’s spirit of kindness, devotion, and obedience to God’s calling allowed his connection with so many to leave lasting impacts in the lives of those he touched.

Kraig is survived by his wife, Manushak Renfro and three sons, KJ, Kristian, and Korban of Fort Worth, TX; his parents, Kenneth and Willie Renfro of Macon, IL; sister Pam (Bryan) Barnes of Huntingburg, IN; brother Kent (Sandy) Renfro of Blue Mound, IL; brother Kary (Peggy) Renfro of Macon, IL; brother Kenny (Stephanie) Renfro of Macon, IL; brother Kris (Stratia) Renfro of Marshall, IL; sister Rachelle (Blake) Wells of Macon, IL; and brother Kaleb (Brentny) Renfro of Macon, IL. Also surviving are many precious nieces, nephews, cousins, family from Armenia, and a list of life-long friends. Kraig was preceded in death by his grandparents, Virgil & Mary Renfro, and Bill & Mary Armstrong, his mother-in-law, Karine Afrikyan, and a great -nephew, Oliver Bayless.
