Katie Ann (Kemp) Farmwald, 95 years, 5 months, 4 days, of Sullivan, IL, passed away at 11:40 AM on Tuesday, April 14, 2026, at her residence.
Funeral services will be held at 9:00 AM on Friday, April 17, 2026, at the HCK West Building, one mile south of Arthur, IL. Bishop Marcus Graber will officiate. Burial will follow in the Otto Cemetery. Visitation will be held anytime after 1:00 PM on Wednesday, April 15, 2026, and any time after 10:00 AM on Thursday, April 16, 2026, all at the HCK West Building. The Edwards Funeral Home is assisting with arrangements.
Katie was born on November 10, 1930, in Davis County, IN. She was a daughter of Chris and Annie (Wagler) Kemp. She married Harvey D. Farmwald on December 13, 1956, in Arcola, IL. They lived in Holy Matrimony for 54 years, 18 days.
She is survived by four sons and 2 daughters, David Farmwald and his wife Irene (Schrock) of Arthur, IL, Steve Farmwald and his wife Leona (Herschberger) of Sullivan, IL, John Farmwald and his wife Dorothy (Chupp) of Sullivan, IL, Ruth Diener and her husband Nelson of Arthur, IL, Esther Yoder and her husband LaVern of Arcola, IL and Philip Farmwald and his wife Treva (Chupp) of Sullivan, IL, 26 grandchildren, 44 great grandchildren, one brother, John Kemp and his wife Ada of Cannelburg, IN, one sister, Lydia Graber and her husband Henry of Montgomery, IN and one sister-in-law Laura Kemp of Odon, IN.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Chris and Annie Kemp, her husband, Harvey Farmwald, one great grandson, Jared Miller, four sisters, Leora Kemp, Mary Graber and her husband Simon, Ida Stoll and her husband Elmo, and Rosie Schrock and her husband Edward, and two brothers, Herman Kemp and his wife Amanda, and Martin Kemp.
Katie was a member of the Old Order Amish Church.
