John C. Yoder

John C. Yoder, 80, of Lovington, IL passed away at 2:15 PM on Monday, August 31, 2026 at Sarah Bush Lincoln Health Center in Mattoon, IL.

Funeral services will be held at 9:00 AM on Thursday, September 3, 2026 at the HCK West Building, one mile south of Arthur, IL. Bishop Howard D. Miller will officiate. Burial will be in the Otto Cemetery. Visitation will be held anytime after 2:00 PM on Tuesday, September 1, 2026 and anytime after 10:00 AM on Wednesday, September 2, 2026 all at the HCK west building. The Edwards Funeral Home is assisting with arrangements.

John was born on July 8, 1946 in Arcola, IL. He was a son of Reuben J. and Irma E. (Yoder) Yoder. He married Sarah Ann Brenneman on September 30, 1971 in Arthur, IL.

He is survived by his wife, Sarah Ann Yoder of Lovington, IL, six children, Arlene Herschberger and her husband Ernest of Tuscola, IL, Lorene Gingerich and her husband Kenneth of Arcola, IL, Mark Yoder and his wife Jessie of Atwood, IL, Paul Yoder of Lovington, IL, Daniel Yoder and his wife Amanda of Arthur, IL, and Mary Louise Yoder of Lovington, IL14 grandchildren, 21 great grandchildren, one brother, Sylvan Yoder and his wife Katie Ann of Arcola, IL, and two sisters, Anna Yoder of Sullivan, IL and Martha Stutzman and her husband John of Worthington, IN.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Reuben and Irma Yoder, one sister, Katie Graber, two brothers, Paul and Melvin Yoder, and a brother-in-law, Nelson Yoder.

John was a member of the Old Order Amish Church.
