JoAnn Burch

JoAnn Burch, 93, formerly of Hugo, IL passed away at 12:40 AM on Friday, August 14, 2026, at Odd Fellow Rebekah Home in Mattoon, IL.

JoAnn was born on November 1, 1932 in Garrett, IL. She was the daughter of Kennie and Marie (Walling) Tuttle. She is survived by three children, Pam Henson of Charleston, IL, Chris Burch of Tuscola, IL, and April Burch of Arcola, IL, many grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Marie Allen and her husband, Ed, her father Kennie Tuttle and his wife Mary, her ex-husband, Russell Burch, three children, Billy, Susie, and Cheryl, four brothers, 4 sisters, one step brother, one step sister, one half-brother, and many friends and acquaintances.

JoAnn was a homemaker when the older children were growing up, but she held several different jobs later in life. She was a wonderful seamstress and made most of her children’s clothes and later for other people as well, she also made beautiful quilts.

JoAnn’s passion in life was dancing. She loved going to the dances on Wednesdays and Saturdays with family and friends. JoAnn was someone who never knew a stranger, she made friends wherever she went.

Per JoAnn’s wishes, no public services will be held. The Edwards Funeral Home is assisting the family.
