JOAN BURKE LITTLE, 84 of Tuscola, IL passed away at 10:54 P.M. on Monday, October 10, 2022, at Carle Foundation Hospital in Urbana, IL

Private services will be held on Friday, October 14, 2022, at the Edwards Funeral Home. Pastor Jerry Conner will officiate. Burial will be in the Tuscola Cemetery.

Joan was born on November 27, 1937, in La Monte, MO, a daughter of Frank and Gladys (Scott) Burke. She married Larry Myron Little on September 2, 1956, in Tuscola, IL.

She is survived by her husband Larry; five children, Chris (Cindy) Little of Tuscola, IL, Kirk (Angela Alwardt) Little of Tuscola, IL, Beth (Jeff) Weller of Bennington, NE, Lance (Julie) Little of Tuscola, IL and Tisha (Eric) Hinshaw of Fishers, IN; thirteen grandchildren, Luke (Danielle) Little of Tolono, IL, Jared (Kristin) Little of Ft. Myers, FL, Brody (Nikki) Little of Manito, IL, Casey (Jennifer) Little of Joseph, OR, Jesse (Jessica) of Murray, KY, Caleb (Katie) Little of Dexter, KY, Dillon (Michelle) Weller of Cedar Falls, IA, Wyatt Weller of Manhattan, KS, Morgan Little of Clarksville, TN, Will Little of Tuscola, IL, Makenzie (fiancé Nick Wohlbold) Hinshaw of Kansas City, MO, Makayla Hinshaw of Fishers, IN, and Macy Hinshaw of Fishers, IN. Joan is also survived by twelve great-grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her parents Frank and Gladys Burke, a daughter, Jennifer Robin Little, a brother, Bill Burke and his wife Gretchen and her twin sister Jean Ambrosio and her husband Pat.

Joan was a 1955 graduate of Montezuma High School in Montezuma, IN.

She was a member of Royal Neighbors, and the First Christian Church of Tuscola, IL.

Joan was an avid bowler and enjoyed bowling at the Embassy Lanes in Arcola, IL for many years. She also enjoyed playing bridge and always looked forward to hosting bridge parties in her home. She was an excellent cook for any occasion, a couple of her specialties included homemade noodles and coffee cookies. 

Her greatest joy in life simply came from being a loving wife, mom, grandma, and the greatest great grandma ever. 

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to an organization dear to Joan’s heart; St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital or Progressive Supranuclear Palsy Research.
