JANICE LEE BAKER, 79, of Charleston, IL passed away at 11:39 A.M. on Tuesday, July 1, 2025 at her residence.
Visitation will be held from Noon to 1:00 P.M. on Monday, July 7, 2025 at the Edwards Funeral Home, 221 East Main Street in Arcola, IL. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 P.M. following the visitation at the funeral home on Monday. Pastor Jerry Sweeney will officiate. Burial will follow in the Mound Cemetery in Charleston, IL.
Janice was born on August 29, 1945 in Frankfort, IN. She was a daughter of Franklin Washington and Pauline Myrtle (Goodwin) Gill, Sr. She married Ralph Allen Baker on December 3, 1967 in Mendota, IL. He passed away on April 19, 2010.
She is survived by seven children: Anthony Allen “Tony” Baker and his wife Terry of Lafayette, Lee Ann Baker of Johannesburg, CA, Troy Edward Baker of, Westfield, IL. Dee Ann Baker Jennifer Lee Moffett and her husband Brian, Jason Adam Baker and Pamela Elaine Baker all of Charleston, IL, 22 grandchildren, several great-grandchildren, and five siblings, Nancy, Carolyn, Beverly, Mike, and Steve.
She was preceded in death by her parents, two granddaughters, Britany Baker and Nichole Carver: Siblings, Mary, Sonny, Blanche, Linda, and Darrell.
Janice had been a member of the New Life Assembly of God in Frankfort, IN.
She loved to travel, and has had several jobs throughout the years, but her true call was to be a wife, mother and especially a grandmother.
