Janet Mae Wilson

Janet Mae Wilson, 74, of Charleston, IL passed away at 4:26 AM on Wednesday, September 30, 2026 at Charleston Rehabilitation and Healthcare.

Memorial service will be held at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, October 7, 2026, at the North Side Baptist Church, 414 North 5th St., Charleston, IL. Inurnment will be at a later date in the Janesville Cemetery. The Edwards Funeral Home is assisting with arrangements.

Janet was born on December 30, 1951 in Mattoon, IL. She was a daughter of Austin and Florance (Tillman) Morgan. She married Herbert Edwin Wilson on January 9, 1972 in Charleston, IL.

She is survived by her husband, Herbert Wilson of Charleston, IL, one daughter Christina Shaw and her husband Ed of Charleston, IL, one grandson, Austin Wilson Shaw of Charleston, IL, and her twin sister, Janice Druy and her husband Rick of Georgia, and multiple nieces and nephews

She was preceded in death by her parents., her sisters, brother, and a nephew.

Janet was a 1970 graduate of Charleston High School. She worked at the Brown Shoe Factory, the Charleston School District as a lunch lady, and at the Charleston Walmart.

Janet was a member of Clear Creek Baptist Church. She loved her family with all her heart. She loved to go shopping, reading books, crocheting and putting puzzles together. She loved her Chicago Cubs.
