James Steven Varner

James Steven Varner, 61, of Villa Grove, IL passed away on Saturday, June 14, 2025 at his residence.

A Celebration of Life will be held at the Rantoul VFW at 2:00 PM on Saturday, July 5, 2025. The Edwards Funeral Home is assisting the family.

James was born on February 12, 1964 in Champaign, IL. He was a son of James Lee and Nancy Joan (Wisher) Varner.

He is survived by four children, William “Billy” Varner of Champaign, IL, Steven “Stevie” Varner of Watseka, IL, Victoria Varner of Mahomet, IL and Trenton “TJ” Varner of Danville, IL, and two sisters, Lori Wierema of Rantoul, IL and Robin Sanford and her husband Edward of Villa Grove, IL.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

James graduated from Buckley Loda High School and attended Parkland College for one year. He worked for Twin City Movers.

James was a big sports fan, always cheering for the Chicago Cubs, Chicago Bears and the Chicago Bulls. He loved to laugh and joke around.
