Hazel Wood

HAZEL WOOD, 97, of Arcola, IL passed away at 5:35 P.M. on Tuesday, March 13, 2018 at Carle Foundation Hospital in Urbana, IL.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 P.M. on Saturday, March 17, 2018 at the Edwards Funeral Home in Arcola, IL.  Burial will follow in the Arcola Cemetery.  Visitation will be held one hour prior to the funeral from 12:00 P.M. (Noon) to 1:00 P.M.

Hazel was born on June 22, 1920 in Tompkinsville, KY.  She was a daughter of Wood and Pair Hale.  She married Caleb Wood in 1940 in Tompkinsville, KY.  He passed away on March 15, 2010.

She is survived by one daughter: Peggie Allen and her husband Leonard “Gene” of Arcola, IL; two sons: Stanley Woods of Mattoon, IL and Larry Wood of Charleston; twelve grandchildren; fourteen great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; and one brother: Paul Hale of Tennessee.

She was preceded in death by her husband; and two daughters: Wanda Casteel and Jadie Wood.
