Fannie Mast

FANNIE MAST, 99, of Arthur, IL passed away at 2:10 A.M. on Tuesday, June 03, 2014 at her daughter’s residence in Arthur, IL.

Funeral services will be held at 9:00 A.M. on Friday, June 6, 2014 at the HCK West Building, 1 mile south of Arthur, IL. Bishop Ervin Miller will officiate. Burial will be in the Otto Cemetery. Visitation will be from 1:00 P.M. to 4:00 P.M. and from 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. at the HCK West Building on Thursday, June 5, 2014. The Edwards Funeral Home is assisting with arrangements.

Fannie was born on August 20, 1914 in Moultrie County, IL. She was a daughter of Joel and Lizzie (Gingerich) Beachey. She married Toby A. Mast on February 28, 1935 in Arthur, IL. He passed away on April 13, 1997.

She is survived by 1 daughter, Dorothy Herschberger and her husband Sam of Arthur, IL; 2 sons-in-law, Jacob Schrock of Arthur, IL and Elmer Beachy of Sarasota, FL; 19 grandchildren; 72 great-grandchildren and 71 great-great-grandchildren; one sister, Lizzie Ann Miller of Arthur, IL; 2 brothers, Elmer Beachey of Mahomet, IL and Lewis Beachey of Decatur, IL; a sister-in-law, Cathryn Bechey of Mattoon, IL and a brother-in-law, Henry Diener of White Pigeon, MI.

Fannie was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Toby A. Mast, 2 daughters, Katie Schrock and Millie Beachy, 1 granddaughter, Dorinda Hostetler, 5 great-grandchildren, 1 great-great-grandchild, 6 sisters and 2 brothers.

Fannie was a member of the Old order Amish Church.

She was an avid gardener and enjoyed spending time with her family.
