Eva Ruble

EVA L. RUBLE, 89, Humboldt, IL passed away at 4:05 A.M. on Monday, January 11, 2016 at the Odd Fellow Rebekah Home in Mattoon, IL.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Saturday, January 16, 2016 at the Edwards Funeral Home. Rev. Mitch Ramey will officiate. Burial will be in the Humboldt Cemetery. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the funeral at the funeral home on Saturday, January 16, 2016.

Eva was born on August 28, 1926 in Humboldt, IL. She was a daughter of Don and Anna (Mayer) Grove. She married Kenneth D. Ruble on August 24, 1948 in Manteno, IL.

Eva is survived by one son, Larry Ruble and his wife Sharon of Tuscola, IL, two granddaughters, Stephany Hove and her husband Scott and Stacy Clough and her husband Kelly all of Tuscola, IL and three great-grandchildren, Avery Hove, Kolby and Dustin Clough.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Kenneth, a daughter Carol Ann Ruble and a brother William Grove.

Eva was a member of the Humboldt United Methodist Church where she played the Organ for several years. She was also a lifetime member of The Order of the Eastern Star.

Eva had worked at the Department of Mental Health for several years in Jacksonville and Manteno, IL. She then was a housekeeper while Larry was growing up. In 1974 she began working at Illinois State Police as the Chief Clerk; she retired from there in 1986. She enjoyed camping with Kenneth no matter where they would go.
