Enos Helmuth

ENOS J. HELMUTH, 93, of Arthur, IL passed away at 6:10 P.M. Tuesday, November 28, 2017 at St. Mary’s Hospital in Decatur, IL.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 A.M. on Friday, December 1, 2017 at the Pleasant View Church.  Howard Kuhns will officiate.  Burial will be in the Pleasant View Church Cemetery.  Visitation will be held on Wednesday, November 29, 2017 from 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. and on Thursday, November 30, 2017 from 2:00 P.M. to 4:00 P.M. and 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. at the church.  The Edwards Funeral Home is assisting with arrangements.

Enos was born on December 26, 1923 in Arthur, IL to Joe P. and Katie (Beachy) Helmuth.  He married Clara M. Helmuth on December 6, 1945.  She passed away on April 25, 2001.  He then married Ida Mae Overholt on May 31, 2003.

Survivors include his wife, Ida Mae, three sons, Floyd Joseph Helmuth and his wife Katie Fern of LaGrange, IN, Raymond Helmuth and his wife Verna, and Allen Helmuth and his wife Betty both of Arthur, IL, three daughters, Mary Anna Petersheim and her husband Edgar of Humboldt, IL, Shirley Kay Herschberger and her husband Elva of Arthur, IL and Ellen Lockwood and her husband Gene of Sarasota, FL, twenty-six grandchildren, eighty-four great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild, one sister, Anna Cole of Hutchinson, KS and one brother, Johnny J. Helmuth of Millersburg, IN, and one brother-in-law, Christy D. Schrock.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his first wife, Clara, two brothers, BJK. Helmuth and Atlee Helmuth, five sisters, Edna Schrock, Fannie Bontrager, Susie Schrock, Martha Helmuth, one infant sister, and three great-grandchildren.

Enos was a member of the Pleasant View Church.

He was a farmer, contractor and was a dealer for Wick Buildings for 20 years.
