Elyn Pogliano

Elyn A. (Eastin) Pogliano, 79, of Decatur, IL formerly of Charleston, IL passed away at 5:00 A.M. on Wednesday, November 7, 2018 at St. Mary's Hospital in Decatur, IL.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 P.M. on Wednesday, November 14, 2018 at the Edwards Funeral Home, 221 East Main St. in Arcola, IL.  Burial will be in the Humboldt Cemetery. Visitation will be held two hours prior to the funeral from 11:00 A.M. to 1:00 P.M. at the funeral home.

Elyn was born on November 29, 1938 in Humboldt, IL.  She was a daughter of James H. and Grace L. (Dixon) Eastin.  She married Clinton C. Pocklington on April 10th, 1960 and she later married Merle Pogliano.

She is survived by one son, Tom Pocklington and his wife Sally of Decatur, IL; five grandchildren, Jennifer Bridgeman of Decatur, IL, Stephanie Bridgeman of Huntington Beach, CA, Shelby Pocklington of Charleston, IL, Jace Pocklington of Decatur, IL and Haylie Pocklington of Decatur, IL; and one great-granddaughter, Mariah Bridgeman.

She was preceded in death by her parents, two husbands, six brothers and five sisters.

Elyn had worked at Carlinville High School and Cole City High School.  She had also worked at Sarah Bush Lincoln Health Center.  On May 6th, 2001 Elyn graduated with a Bachelor of Arts from Eastern Illinois University where she worked in human resources for several years before retiring in 2012.

A devout Christian, Elyn always made sure to make it to church on Sundays when she was well. Her family can attest to how she was a great cook, loved books, dove into history and genealogy, and on occasion enjoyed relaxing with needle point and crocheting while watching some of her favorite televisions shows.
