Edward Chupp

EDWARD J. CHUPP, 79 years, 1 month, and 16 days, of Arthur, IL passed away at 12:40 P.M.  on Friday, August 6, 2021, at his residence.

Funeral services will be held at 9:00 A.M. on Tuesday, August 10, 2021, at the Otto Center in Arthur, IL.  Bishop Lavern E. Schrock will officiate. Burial will be in the Otto Cemetery.  Visitation will be held any time after 5:00 P.M. on Sunday, August 8, 2021, and any time after 10:00 A.M. on Monday, August 9, 2021, all at the Otto Center in Arthur, IL.  The Edwards Funeral Home is assisting with arrangements.

Edward was born on June 21, 1942, in Moultrie County, IL a son of Jacob M. and Mattie A. (Herschberger) Chupp.   He married Verna Viola Miller on April 4, 1963, in rural Arthur, IL. They lived in Holy Matrimony for 58 years, 4 months, and 2 days.

Edward is survived by his wife Verna of Arthur, IL; two brothers, Lewis Chupp, and his wife Mary (Bontrager) of Tuscola, IL, Omer Chupp, and his wife Lorene (Miller) of Arthur, IL; three sisters, Edna Schrock of Arthur, IL, Clara Schrock, and her husband Edward C. of Chesterville, IL, Wilma Yoder of Crab Orchard, KY and a sister-in-law, Anna Chupp of Shipshewana, IN.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Jacob, and Mattie Chupp, two brothers, Joas Chupp and his wife Esther, and Eli Chupp, and two brothers-in-law, Eli Yoder, and Fred Schrock.

Edward was a member of the Old Order Amish Faith, where he served as a Bishop for many years.
