Denzel Melton

DENZEL LEE MELTON, 66, of Arcola, IL passed away at 12:10 P.M. on Saturday, February 20, 2016 at his residence.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, February 23, 2016 at 7:00 P.M. at the Edwards Funeral Home, 221 East Main, Arcola, IL. Pastor Vince Rohn will officiate. Burial will be held at a later date in the Arcola Cemetery. Visitation will be held two hours prior to the funeral, from 5:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M.

Dennis was born on February 23, 1949 in Westfield, IL. He was the son of Ethard Ray and Frances (Smitley) Melton. He married Marsha Kay Still on August 24, 1973 in Arcola, IL. She passed away on August 18, 2015.

He is survived by one son, Ryan Melton and his wife Sherri, one daughter, Brandi Melton and her fiancé Jon all of Arcola, IL, one step-son, Brian Perkins and his wife Shelley of Alexis, IL, seven grandchildren, Meghan and Bridget Perkins of Alexis, IL, Jordan Melton of Arcola, IL, Alexis Melton of Tolono, IL, Mackenzie and Madysen Melton, Anthony Turnbaugh and two step-grandchildren, Richard and Lexie Jaeger all of Arcola, IL, two brothers, Larry Melton and his wife Wanda of Arthur, IL and Jack Melton of Niantic, IL, and three sisters, Marlene Bray of Arthur, IL, Carolyn Bogan of Melbourne, FL and Pat Hackler of Arcola, IL.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Marsha, two brothers, Tom and Rick Melton, and one sister, Shirley Sisney.

Dennis enjoyed working in his garage, fishing and hunting.
