Deborah K. (Deby) Brown, 71 of Arcola, IL passed away September 25, 2021 at “The Loft” in Decatur, IL.

Celebration of Deby’s life will be held from 5:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. on Thursday, September 30, 2021 at Penn Station in Arthur, IL with a memorial starting at approximately 6:30 P.M.  There will be no graveside service as her generosity continues even in death, with a donation of her body to science.

Deby was born May 31, 1950 in Holyoke, Massachusetts to Air Force SGT Richard Aldrich and Eileen Gillenwater. She married Rusty Brown on June 29, 1974 in Decatur, IL. Deby has lived in many places including Scotland, North Africa, and Tripoli. Her family settled in Florida until Deby moved to Illinois in the early 70’s.  She worked many years as a medical secretary before retiring from Herff Jones in 2012. Her love for animals and community led to volunteering with the Mounted Search and Rescue, as well as the Douglas County Animal Shelter. Deby was very involved with her children and grandchildren and will always be remembered for her zany personality and generosity.

Deby is survived by her husband Rusty Brown of Arcola; children, Jeremy Brown of Amarillo, TX and Jennifer Brown of Arcola; grandchildren: Diana Quinones, Madelyn Dailey and Natalia Brown Quinones; siblings: Pam Schoemperlen, Lana Schiro and Richard Aldrich; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

She is preceded death by her parents.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks for donations to be made to Douglas County Animal Shelter or the Alzheimer’s Association.
