It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Debra (Debbie) Antoinette White, age 74, of Mattoon, Illinois, on February 27, 2026, at Mattoon Health Care. She was surrounded by her loved ones after a courageous battle with illness. While we will miss her dearly, we take comfort in knowing she is now in her eternal home with her Savior, Jesus Christ.
Debbie was born on December 21, 1951, in Charleston, Illinois, to Charles Joseph Solomon and Myrna Mae Ward. She grew up in Mattoon and graduated from Mattoon High School. Shortly after high school, she married and later welcomed her daughter. Debbie found her greatest fulfillment in being a devoted homemaker, nurturing those she loved and creating a warm and caring home for her family. She later married Ronald Dean White and together they built a life centered on faith, family, and love.
She found joy in singing gospel music, spending time with friends and family, and camping. She especially treasured the time she spent with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Those who knew her will remember her for her willingness to help others, regardless of her own circumstances. Her selfless spirit and generous heart touched many lives.
Debbie is survived by her husband, Ronald White of Mattoon; her daughter, Michelle Fultz of Sullivan; her grandson, Dalton (Suzy) Ohm of Sullivan; her granddaughters, Shelby (Nick) Spidle and Mikayla (Tyler) Nichols; her great-grandsons, Easton, Waylon, and Dawson Nichols; and her great-granddaughters, Abigail Ohm and Opal Nichols. She is also survived by her sisters, Donna (Mike) Allen of Brownstown and Christy Leathers of Mattoon; and her brother, Joseph (June) Solomon of Effingham; and many beloved nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her sister, Diane; her grandson, Thaddeus Ohm; and her son-in-law, Todd Fultz.
A visitation will be held on March 7th at 10:00 a.m. at Edwards Funeral Home in Arcola, with the funeral service following at 11:00 a.m. Burial will be held at Dodge Grove Cemetery in Mattoon.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Kidney Fund.
Debbie’s memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.
