David Beachy

DAVID J. BEACHY, 91, of rural Arthur, IL passed away at 12:45 P.M. Wednesday, December 26, 2007 at his residence.

Funeral Services will be held at 9:00 A.M. Saturday, December 29, 2007 at Central Wood LLC, 222 East County Road 200 North in rural Arcola, IL. Bishop David J. Otto will officiate. Burial will be in the Yoder Cemetery in Rural Arthur, IL. Visitation will be anytime before the funeral at Central Wood LLC. In rural Arcola, IL.

David was born on March 20, 1916 in Arthur, IL. He was a son of Jacob L. and Anna L. (Yoder) Beachy. He married Ida Mae Schrock on February 8, 1938 in Arthur, IL. She passed away on June 23, 2003; they lived in holy matrimony for 65 years, 4 months and 15 days.

Survivors include one son, Levi D. Beachy and his wife Katie J. (Schrock) of Arthur, IL; one daughter Katie Ann Miller and her husband Jacob W. of Arthur, IL; one sister Bertha Marner of LaGrange, IN; thirteen grandchildren and 85 great-grandchildren.

David was preceded in death by his wife, two great-grandsons, Leroy Allen Helmuth and Richard Dale Beachy, seven brothers, Elmer Floyd, Arthur Martin, Levi J. Noah Edward, Harry C., Perry and one that was still born and four sisters, Maymie Marie Rogers, Druicilla Beachy, Edna May Soule and Irene Beachy.

David was a retired farmer and dairyman and after he retired from farming, he worked in a repair shop. He was a Bishop of the Old Order Amish.
