She was preceded in death by her parents.

Charlene was a 1965 graduate of Arthur High School.

Charlene worked in office management for many years, starting at the Arthur Home, Gibson Federal Savings and Loan in Gibson City, Country Companies Insurance Agencies in Arthur and Arcola, Curry Construction and then working at the Arcola Record Herald until she retired.  After retirement, she worked part time at Elder-Beerman in Mattoon.

Charlene enjoyed gardening and all that goes along with it, sharing the bounty of the harvest, canning, and freezing vegetables.   She was a great cook, who shared her passion through excellent pies of all kinds.  She collected snow globes, nutcrackers, and angel figurines that she proudly displayed.  Charlene's hobbies did not end there, for she loved being outside where she could enjoy all of God's creation, especially butterflies.  She was very skilled at cross stitch and has completed many beautiful masterpieces down through the years that are framed for all to enjoy.

Her greatest joy in life came from spending time with her daughter Sheila and her two grandsons, Austin and Trevin, whether it was shopping, fishing or going to their sporting events Gram was all in!
