Bertha Lorene Chupp

Bertha Lorene (Kauffman) Chupp, 79 of Lovington, IL passed away at 6:50 PM on June 15, 2025 at her residence.

Funeral services will be held at 9:00 AM on Wednesday, June 18, 2025 at the Otto Center in Arthur, IL. Bishop Nelson Diener will officiate. Burial will be in the Otto Cemetery in Arthur, IL. Visitation will be held anytime after 2:00 PM on Monday, June 16, 2025 and anytime after 10:00 AM on Tuesday, June 17, 2025 at the Otto Center. The Edwards Funeral Home is assisting with arrangements.

Bertha was born on August 26, 1945 in Tuscola, IL. She was a daughter of Ervin S. and Lovina (Yoder) Kauffman. She married Elva M. Chupp on October 22, 1971 in Arthur, IL. They lived in Holy Matrimony for 53 years.

She is survived by her husband, Elva Chupp of Lovington, IL, 2 sons, John Chupp and his wife Lorene of Dexter, KY, Kenneth Chupp and his wife Barbara of Lovington, IL, and 1 daughter, Eva Miller and her husband Lamar of Sullivan, IL, 14 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren, 2 sisters, Lucy Bontrager and her husband Marvin of Kokomo, IN, and Betty Herschberger and her husband Eli of Arthur, IL and one sister-in-law, Emma Troyer of Sarasota, FL.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Ervin S. and Lovina Kauffman, 1 brother, Kenneth Kauffman, and 1 grandson, Justin Miller.

Bertha enjoyed fishing, crocheting and working in her garden. She was a member of the Old Order Amish Faith.

The family would like to thank everyone for the food that was brought in and all the help that has been provided. Also, thank you to the young folks for their singing.
