ABRAHAM M. “ABE” SCHROCK, 70, of rural Arthur, IL passed away at 9:20 P.M. on Saturday, January 16, 2016 at St. Mary’s Hospital in Decatur, IL.

Funeral services will be held at 9:00 A.M. on Wednesday, January 20, 2016 at the HCK West Building, 300 North, County Road 000 East in rural Arthur, IL. Bishop Edward Chupp will officiate. Burial will be in the Miller Cemetery in rural Arcola, IL. Visitation will be held after 1:30 P.M. on Monday, January 18, 2016 and after 1:30 P.M. on Tuesday, January 19, 2016, both at the HCK West Building in rural Arthur, IL. The Edwards Funeral Home is assisting with arrangements.

Abe was born on May 24, 1945 in rural Arthur, IL. He was a son of Menno A. and Sovilla J. (Mast) Schrock. He married Frances I. Miller on February 14, 1971 in rural Arthur, IL.

Abe is survived by his wife Frances; four children, Dennis Lee Schrock and Nelson Ray Schrock both of Arthur, IL, Clara Fern Brandenburger and her husband Sammy Joe of Syracuse, IN and Lamar Jay Schrock and his wife Tanya of Mahomet, IL; eight grandchildren; two brothers, Levi M. Schrock and his wife Edna Mae of Arthur, IL and Andrew M. Schrock of Bowling Green, FL; a brother-in-law, Oba Helmuth of Arthur, IL and a sister-in-law, Marie Schrock of Warsaw, OH.

He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, John and Dan Schrock and a sister Anna Helmuth.

Abe was a lifelong member of the Old Order Amish Faith. He was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather who loved serving his community. He worked as a carpenter most of his life and he leaves many friends to mourn his passing.
