Jarold K Pollum, 82, of rural Sullivan, IL passed away at 3:22 P.M. on Friday, June 14, 2019 at Sarah Bush Lincoln Health Care Center in Mattoon, IL.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 P.M. on Thursday, June 20, 2019 at the Edwards Funeral Home, 221 East Main St., Arcola, IL.  Rev. Brad Brown will officiate.  Burial will follow in the Graham Chapel Cemetery in Allenville, IL.  Visitation will be held from 4:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. on Wednesday, June 19, 2019 at the funeral home.

Jarold was born on May 27, 1937 in Hocking County, OH.  He was a son of Robert and Lucy (Davis) Pollum.  He married Sharon Elaine Hayward on September 15, 2000 in Alligator Point, FL.  

Survivors include his wife, Sharon of rural Sullivan, IL, two sons, Stephen K. Pollum (Mary) of Humboldt, IL and Jarold Kenneth Pollum (Rhonda) of Charleston, IL, two step-children, Vernon William Benslay (Angela) of Bethany, IL and Jennifer Renee Greuel (Matthew) of Windsor, IL, fifteen grandchildren, Stephanie and Kaleb Pollum, Matthew and Joshua Frederick, Ricki Jones, Morgan, Briar, Ronin and Orrin Pollum, Elias and Brianna Pollum, Jed and Connor Benslay and Katherine and Logan Greuel, and six great-grandchildren. 

He was preceded in death by his parents, one son, Mark Edward Pollum, one brother, Robert Pollum and one sister, Dorothy Pollum.

Jarold grew up in Hocking County, OH until moving to Illinois in 1965 when his job at General Electric transferred him to Mattoon.  Jarold had completed a four-year degree in Engineering at Eastern Illinois University in just three years, all while working at General Electric full time.  He retired from General Electric in 1995 with over 40 years of service.  

He loved Coon hunting in his younger years with his best friend John Hooper.   He had also enjoyed working on his farm in rural Mattoon for a number of years.
